I was using the 'safely remove' tool to shut a usb hard drive the other day and i fear i may have accidentally removed one of the HDs. I have 3 sata 2 HDs in my pc now all of a sudden the one with all my tv on it aint working. It said something about not being accessible so i restarted the pc and now its saying its not formatted.

Is there any way of restoring this drive. Are the files all gone or is there someway they can be retrieved...

You may just need to reinitialise it.

Go to Start > Run... > Type "compmgmt.msc" > OK

When Computer Management opens up, go to Disk Management. You should see your disk here, marked as "Offline" or "Missing". In the lower pane on the right, right-click on this disk, and select "Reactivate". You should have all your stuff back then.

no that didnt work theres no option for reactivate. says the disk is active and healthy. in the list at the top the File System entry is blank whereas all the others are NTFS

If you can, disconnect it physically. It should get picked up then. You may have to reboot.
