At what prescription level are you blind?

    Always wondered but never asked...

    at what level are you considered officially blind without your glasses? (e.g. -6 etc)

    In the US it's down to how good your eyesight is after it's been corrected by lenses rather than the strength of the prescription. It might be similar here.

    I'd go with that. One person I have met who is visually impaired (but legally blind I guess:confused:) has some vision so when she wears (very thick) glasses) and with the help of magnifying glass can read large print very close up. So her vision is correctable to a minimal extent but certainly not nearly enough for her to be able to do live a so called "normal" life.
    I would think that anyone whose vision can be corrected to normal or near normal sight with lenses would not be considered blind.

    What I don't know is if there is a point on the range of vision where you can no longer be corrected sufficiently :confused: Anyone know?

    yep... it cant really be corrected if you have a reall bad va ie 6/120. ur practically blind. most people have sufficient sight n the other eye though.
