    Hi All,
I'll be travelling to the USA in the new year to see some family over there. I've been asked to bring over some 'Irish Breakfast' food - bacon/sausages/bread etc. Does anyone know if this is allowed? I have a feeling it may not be, but I'd just like to know the rules regarding this.

    Cheers,

    DC

They used to see these in the airport - like the vacuum packed salmon - which could be moved but that could all have changed - it may be work ringing the duty free shops.

As far as I remember, you can only bring this type of stuff to other european destinations. Bread may be OK??
They should check out www.foodireland.com - there are also plenty of other Irish food distributors in US

Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems meat is out of bounds, but bread is ok.

Where exactly do they live over there? Many cities now sell Irish foodstuffs but at a much higher price of course.
