    Hi,

Anyone have any experience of interviews at William Frys for trainees. Also, would missing the drinks evening work against a person.

    thanks,

Had to google that one. No idea. As for the drinks, go, but don't get sloshed. Have one or two, and mingle with the f**kers.

I find if you mingle with the people you work with outside of work, you'll get on easier with them inside work.

I don't work in the area but my understanding is that William Fry is full of young sociable people. I would suggest that fitting in would be a good thing and that going to the drinks would be a good sign of this. Companies who run social events as part of their recruitment runs generally don't run them just to be nice.

Try to go if possible. Companies usually say these kind of things aren't assessed, but they really are. They are just trying to gauge whether you would fit in with the rest of the people in the office. Many companies do this kind of thing over an informal dinner with current members of staff but drinks nights are another way.

Basically, they just want to see if you would be a person they could work with on a daily basis. You got this far because your academic/prev exp credentials are good enough, this step is to see if you have a personality to go along with those achievements.

Absolutely go. It can't work against you (unless you get pissed)

Apart from the fact they may be looking for people to 'fit' in with the company culture more importantly you will get a feel for the culture yourself which helps you

    a) during the interview process
    b) during the decision process if you have more then one offer
