I have a BA(Hons) in Economics and Politics 1992! I have worked in industry up until recently, also completed an MBS a few years ago and I am now considering a career in teaching. But I have a couple of questions:
    1. What subjects can I teach...am I right in thinking i can teach Economics (obviously), Business JC and LC?? what about CSPE?
    2. Would a school consider me for sub' hours?? if so what's the best to way to get teaching hours?
    3. Do you need a Hdip to teach in a VEC?

    1. You will need to contact the teaching council or cao to ascertain exact subjects they would recognise from your degree. For subbing, you can teach whatever the school will let you!
    2. Of course they will if they need you, remember its supply and demand. e.g. Irish is impossible to get a teacher in at the moment.
    3. Nope but soon to change I believe.
