I got one of the Targa 500GB external drives from Lidl on monday. I have been tryin to set it up wirelessly since.

I have the HD plugged in to a Netopia wireless router via the network cable. But i can only access the HD when the desktop PC is on (which is also connected to the router).

Basically i want to access the HD with my laptop wirelessly without having to turn on the desktop PC every time.

Can it be done, how can it be done??

It's just an external drive with a usb port.It doesn't contain any cpu / network port.. i.e. a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device. If you want to access it all the time you'll need to have it connected to a computer that's on 24/7.

It has a network port and a USB port on the back. Its also supports NDAS. Well so it says on the box anywho.

Oh I'm sorry. The spec I saw on the LIDL flyer had no mention of an RJ45 port. That's great value then at 109 yoyos!
