    Hi,

Applied for the Davy Graduate Program a few weeks ago and they just emailed me today saying that they want me to come up and meet a member of HR.

Has anybody on here done this interview with Davy before or know what I am in for? They gave me no information on the email what would be involved, just a time and an address!

Also, has anyone ever worked for Davy or know what its like. I hear its very hard to get a job there but Im gonna try my damdest, its the only place I bothered applyin for, damn those Nov deadlines!!

Thanks in advance for any light ye can shed,
    Camone

I have an interview with them too. I don't know a Hell of a lot about it either, but we'll see how it goes!

I spoke to them at a careers fair last year but wasn't massively impressed by what their 'graduate' programme was offering. Didn't seem to offer much a route into a decent job. Maybe it was just me, but I would quiz them on what exactly are the long term prospects (if you get a chance).

Also have a look at what English firms are offering in comparison.

Obviously none of this helps with the interview part

I just got a call about that today, I didn't get any email about it. Could somebody let me know what it said? Where is it?

Is this the on campus interview after the aptitude test?

Mates of mine did it yesterday in UL. They said your man flew threw 30+ questions looking for quick answers. What do you think of the current market. What 2 stocks would you buy, why Davy's etc.

I think they're just HR people screening for the next round of interviews.....

    Best of luck

It's not on campus, I think it's around Fitzwilliam street, Gratton house or something like that, anybody know?

Do you have any other examples of questions he got asked?

Can't give you any specific advice but I would recommend that you're up to date with all the latest goings on in the credit market. What is happening with the Irish banks over the last couple of weeks. Where do you see things going yourself and be able to provide reason to your beliefs. Check out the Central Bank section of thepropertypin.com it has some useful info into current stuff and some good links. finfacts.com is another good website. For international stuff use ft.com and bloomberg.com

What I'd imagine they will be looking for is that you can show you have an understanding of the market, not necessarily thorough. And that you have a vision of where you want to go in the company i.e. stockbrocking and why.

Anybody else go to this. I'm assuming its a short enough affair. My only worry is getting parking around that part of town.

It takes about an hour total but you'd want to give yourself a bit longer just to be on the safe side. There's a presentation about Davy then a very short interview.
Plenty of parking beside the place, pay and display on the street just along the canal there

I wonder is that a bad sign... I still haven't heard back from them about a summer internship!

Not sure if this is too late but a friend of my did the interview process with Davy's a couple of years back through to the end was accepted and declined. I will be seeing him over the New Year's if you have any question I'd be happy to ask him and relay back what I can remember!

I heard back from them yesterday, I've got the group excercise / presentation in mid January. Did anyone else get an email yesterday?

For gerry87, Davy dont do internships. Normally they'd send you an email saying this but HR are really busy this year with grad recruitment as its the 1st year that they are hiring grads without masters, so I wouldn't be suprised if they dont contact you at all.
