    Hi All,

My focus just failed the NCT, delighted! :P

Anyway, the car failed for 2 reasons:

    1. Front left side lamp not working
    2. Clutch pedal rubber worn

Could anyone please advise me on cheapest place to get these 2 fixed? Do halfords sell clutch pedal rubber? Is the focus side lamp easy to replace?

    Thanks for help.

    D.I.Y.

    1/. Open lamp. Change bulb/fuse.

2/. Main dealer will sell you a pedal rubber. Cheap and it's a simple job to replace.

    They are easy enough fixes.

A new bulb and replacement pedal rubber can be bought from a motor factors like Halfords. You can fit them yourself.

Also you probably will not need to go through the whole NCT again. Afaik these failures can be reinspected visually by the NCT centre.

bazz26, yup thats right, the guy said to bring back to car in the next 15 days and its just a free visual inspection, I wonder do halfords fit those parts if I buy them there?

It's a US website so it's nearly useless. Virtually the only thing the first generation US and European cars have in common is the chassis. The engines and electrics are all different. Even the headlamps are different. The UK owners club website @ http://www.ffoc.co.uk/ is a worthwhile read. If you're good with a spanner and want to maintain it yourself search for a "TIS" CD on eBay. It's the workshop manual the dealers use.

Changing the bulb is fiddly. You need small hands and the ability to see around corners. The pedal rubber just pops off. The bulb will cost you €1.50 and the pedal rubber is €7.

If you can't figure it out then go to Halfords, buy the bulb and they can fit it for you there and then for a small fee.
