not yet, MIA are currently waiting to get it in

krylon is best to use, but if you cant get your hands on that then anything that gives the finish you want will work (i.e. matt or satin), the main thing with spray paint is preperation, if the surface is not prepped and primed correctly, then your wasting your time painting it

defenderdude is the expert on paints around these parts, he'll have some tips no doubt :)

are you sure the half assed spray coat of white isn't actually a primer?

Has anyone tried Games Workshops Black Primer?

Its Dull/Matt black and has a slightly rough feel to it.
If you can get a can of matt hardcoat varnish to spray over it it would be ok.
(although I have not seen their matt varnish for a long time on shop shelves)

Possibly it could be, is there anyway of checking whether it is? It has a smooth finish to it and u can kinda see the colour of the metal underneath it

If youre taking it back to the metal (best option unless the paint is 100%) - beware that it's not aluminium or zinc die-casting. If it's either, then really you should be using a 2k etch primer or at least some sort of etch primer suitable for aluminium. Generally the ingredients will include phosphoric acid - if it doesnt; then avoid. Otherwise you will get adhesion problems down the road...

Krylon is fine if you just want to coat it up without any hassle - easy to use and gives a good finish, however it's not suitable directly-on over aluminium (but it will work - just fall/scrape off later...)

Best going for 2k (2 component - uses hardener) matt paints if you can. Might not be easy to obtain in small quantities tho.
PM me if you need some help sourcing.

Like KD said - if it's not prepped and primed correctly - youre wasting your time...
