Guaging intrest in a new team idea (Dublin area)

Hey peeps, Since most of the teams up at HRTA are already full and theres plenty of people who are still independent I just wanted to float an idea I had.

The basic principal is a Mercenary Team (not for hire in the ordinary sense)
So far most of the teams I've seen up at HRTA all like to look alike in the same type of Camo. This would be the fundimental differance between the Merc* team and the ones already formed.
As most people who already are big into the sport have various types camo from all over the world getting another set just for their team can be a bit of expense they can't afford to shell out.
The only Uniform part of the team would be the team badges.

Any type of weapon or uniform old / modern / fururistic(ish) would be acceptable :)

Thoughts, Comments, Insults & Degredations on the concept are very welcome ;)

Eventually id like to start a team called guerilla airsoft or something similar with a similar theme of using your own gear, avoiding a bespoke military look, more a casual type of dress a militia or guerilla freedom fighter group would have.

Would be great for terrorists versus counter terrorist scenarios, with a ready made group of enemies for the more conventional teams.

I just want to coin "guerilla airsoft" right now!

Go for it, its an idea I personally think is good, though avoiding links with terrorism is a good idea in this modern climate with all the media attention and all, thats why Id use the term guerilla for mine.

Mercs sounds good, I'd join, then eventually I could do my own team with a slightly differing theme, but considering the similarities in our ideas count me in for now.

I wouldnt mind discussing this further.

I skirmish up at HRTA every second Saturday (have to work 1 sat in 2 :() so I'll be up there on the 15th of December, Since being introduced to it by Spetzcong I've become obsesed hehe .
No I started using veriations of Necron as my nickname long before Gameworkshop basterdised it ;), You can check out my profile to see where it was from origanially.

Not at the moment as the team is still just an idea but from what I've seen up at HRTA so far I don't think there needs to be a team age limit, Seeing how older people sometimes act like infants Rofl :D and some of the younger crew can fight like veterans :)

Thanks, I know of few people on other teams have erratic play times too and it hasn't stopped them. ;)

Practice makes pefect my friend, well if you free up sometime in the future the Merc door will be open.. unless we get banned or fill up on members lol :D

Thanks all for the comments & votes, seems like this is an idea that might work so i'm going to chat with the IAA on how to set up a team & with Paul at HRTA about maybe getting a little area for a base if we can get enough members.

I'd say sign me up straight away cause this sounds perfect for what myself and two of my mates are looking for! We are only starting out and haven't bought anything except pistols and don't know when we'd get down to HRTA.

Once we get ourselves sorted and know what we're doing a bit hopefully we'll still be able to join this team!

Just wanted to post to say it's a great idea (cause we call want to get different weapons and just have fun rather than join a military-esque organisation just yet! rofl)

Also as an attraction to newbies you might want to outline some plans you have for training or style of play, etc. (just a thought from looking at how much thought some of the other guys have put into their threads about their team ideas - Dead Mans Hand for example)

Mmmh dressing like a guerilleros? Sign me up! But I won't be avalaible until january. I hope all my gear will be delivered by then (3 weeks that ICA has received my order... no news, no answers, I feel like there is something wrong:rolleyes:).

I've always wanted to dress like a guerilla although it might be abit impratical.
