    I'm not really an e-bayer but I was considering buying a watch online. I had decided on one and was about to buy when I spotted this;

    PayPal buyer protection doesn't apply to this item. Check protection offered by your card issuer

    I had a look through the site and there were items of higher value which did offer Paypal protection so I'm a bit confused. The seller has excellent feedback and actually has a bricks and mortar business as well.
    Anyone explain this or suggest a good site for watches in the EU?

    Do you really need buyer protection? If the item isn't too expensive and as you say the seller has excellent feedback then why not go for it?

    i've noticed this too. you might be logged onto .ie site and no protection, then log onto .com or .co.uk sites or vise versa and protection will appear.
    if a seller is offering paypal, there is always some level of buyer protection. if there's not you should pay with credit card and if item is not as described you can always do a chargeback
