    Hey Folks,

I have a friend who's looking for a wooden display case like the one in the picture. She's been around various shops and can't find anything like it. If you know of anyone who has one and would part with it can you let me know. She's very keen to get her hands on one and will pay a fair price for it.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

You can check out Bargaintown and any Interior Design shops and maybe Woodies. They all seem to have some type of display cases.

It looks like a good old china cabinet to me... most antique furniture shops should be able to provide one or as stated above, furniture shops should be checked for modern examples.

Try Tolco Antiques, Headford Road, Galway (about 4 miles outside the city); I think I saw something similar in there the last time I was in.

    091-755546 (I think)

Thanks Preusse. It's pretty old so I wouln't have thought the likes of Bargaintown would have one.

Hey boneless. It is pretty old, it's not something younger folk are likely to have in their homes, it's more the kind of thing you'd find in your grandparents house. I think the person who's looking for one wants an original rather than a reproduction.

    Many thanks for that Fey!

Does anyone else know of anyone who has one that would be willing to sell it? Have you seen one around anywhere?

    Hi eo,

if you are looking for a genuine antique display case I would recommend any of the many antique furniture sales here. You can find them online and theu also advertise in the national papers. There's usually a whole section devoted to it on or before weekends. Ask some of the auction houses to send you their catalogue or have a look at their websites. Might be the best bet for a nice display case.
