Nearly attacked by an oul wagon on the LUAS

Last week I was on a packed LUAS (gettin on at Balally), on I got, and ended up standing right in fornt of this bloke who was sitting at one of the seats beside the door.

He got off at Cowper, and down I sat, but this fuggin oul wagon, aged about 40 started jabbing me in the back with an umbrella, tellin me to get out of the seat! she had been nowhere near it, she had pushed past at least one other person to get to me, and started going "you're quite the gentleman, arent you".... what a nutjob. she wasnt old, she wasnt pregnant, and she was certaintly able-bodied enough to go for me with an umbrella...

Anyone else find it a bit much that she felt she could get away with this? I've seen this type of thing before, and mates have experienced the same thing... I've no problem givin up a seat to someone who needs it, but this cow didnt

You should have offered her some sort of deal i.e. ask for sexual favours in exchange for the seat. That'd soon shut her up and if it didn't you'd have at least gotten something out of it.

Seriously how many more stories are we going to get about people being attacked on the LUAS. It seems like theres 2-3 threads every day. Surely they should all be moved to the Dublin forum, unless given their own forum.

****ing biddies on the luas infuriate me with their belief they deserve a damn seat and with more pushing and barging than anyone.

    Ignorant ****ers

There is a Commuting & Transport forum and DC forum but somehow Dubs would rather post their near attack experiences in AH. Eyeballs methinks.

OP, that must have been terrible for you. Stay strong and don't give in to others on the tram.

Yeah that pisses me off and especially when people give you the eyes and try to make you feel guilty.

I was working in town for the summer and go the dart in every morning. I developed a back problem (which i only found out a while go was compressed discs not sciatica) in mid july and had people eyeballing me all the time because i wasn't giving my seat up to them....shag off!!

just because i'm young it doesn't mean i don't have a proper reason as to why i am unable to stand all the way from bray to pearse street station.. and why someone who gets on at Dun Laoghaire and gets off at Blackrock should get my seat..

    ....rant over :)

If someone started prodding me with an umbrella then I would take it as assault and react in kind.

Why the f*ck do people put up with this sh!t. The next time that happens give her a slap and see if she needs the seat then.

I remember being in France and I got onto the tram with my brother and his flatmate, I was ambling towards a seat and positioning my arse to sit, when quick as lightning, this old bag darts in front of, knocking me aside and taking the seat. Now, if I'd seen her standing next to me, I would certainly have offered her the seat as I'm a nice person like that, but the fact she knocked me aside to get it shocks me. We spent the rest of the trip conversing in Irish about various stuff, she gave us horrendous looks as if we were foreign or something(which we were) so we started talking about her, she was pissy as she knew we were talking about her, but couldn't do or say anything as she had no clue what language we were speaking.

Later on, we were in a resteraunt which was jam packed. We found a table for us (6 people) but when half of us were sitting there, saving it for the others to get their food so we could go up, this woman in a wheelchair and her minder come up and sit at the table, and start spreading their stuff everywhere. We were shocked. Please understand this woman was in a wheelchair so I would have no problem offering her the table if she wanted it, but the fact she came up and commandeered a table other people were occupying without any courtesy or attempt to speak to us whatsoever appalled me. We felt "ah sure she's old, we'll let her have it", and fecked off and eventually found another table though we were split up. When we were leaving, we saw her and two other people taking over the entire table for six with their crap spread all over the place.

Well I've had enough: I'm taking a stand. Next time I so much as see an old man or woman looking at my seat with anyhting like envy, I'm going to spring forward and rain down a serious of ferocious blows until they lapse into unconcioussness and die.

    Who's with me?

There's no 'nearly attacked' about it, if she was hitting you with an umbrella.

But you neglect to mention whether you gave her your seat or not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,893 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

All I woulda given her would be 2 tickets to the gun show!

"you're quite the gentleman, arent you"

You should have replied "Listen tootsie, chivalry's dead and woman killed it" in the most chauvinistic way you can manage to pull off. T'would Get her all hot under the collar and make your journey more interesting.

Or maybe "Pull yer knickers up and make me a cup of tea"

True, it's great the way feminists demand equality only when it works in their favour....
