Not hugely bothered cos I'm off on maternity leave week after next but how much intimidation should we take? I work in a lovely school but have had a few bad incidents. I'm not sure how much is acceptable anymore as each year the bar seems to be raised a little higher. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Intimidation in what form?? From students?

I think the simple answer is .. none. Intimidation is wrong and should be reported through whatever system is in place in the school, as per any workplace.

    I would agree with this.
Intimidation in any workplace is not acceptable but who it's from is somewhat relevant. If it's a student, things get a little more complicated (unfortunately).

I presume the intimidation has nothing to dowith maternity leave?
Can you give us more details as its difficult to answer your query. But of course you should put up with none!

Guys and Ladies I'd really appreciate if this didnt get down to specifics. I'll have to lock the thread if it does.

Just keep things generalised thanks. This isnt the place for specific advice about specific cases.

Followed to my car with students making rude noises...there are only a handful of bad ones but they find this hilarious...

I'd be going straight to the principal so. Is it primary or secondary?

Certainly a job for the principal and I'd be after a suspension for that.

ABsolutely agree with Trotter, thats total crap they are doing. Write it all down and hand it to the year head of the pupils involved for starters, thats appalling stuff. Once you make a stand, that should all stop.

Secondary, on maternity leave soon but I can't help but wonder where things have all changed...I'd never gotten a kick out of that...

I taught for 2 years at secondary level... and here I am in primary.

Same reasons really.. I became more and more tired of the hostility.

Its a clear disciplinary thing anyway.. put it in writing. That way it has to be dealt with.
