I'm thinking off heading off for a few days in between Christmas and the New Year, not sure where to go though, maybe thinking of Sligo or Donegal but don't know enough about the best places to go, somewhere scenic but not too isolated, anyone any ideas?

    Galway - could visit Connemara
Derry - could then visit Donegal
Belfast - could go to Giants causeway
Kerry /Cork - Lots to see around the main towns
Dont know whats in Sligo - only maybe Yeats grave and the place he lived in.
It will be cold for doing outside things on bad roads around New Years though. Some of the roads in Kerry/Donegal etc can be quite tricky to drive on in bad weather.
