Just got my hands on a new Canon 580EX II. I have noticed that there are some scratches on the plastic housing of the wireless sensor and the AF- assist beam emitter and was wondering if this will affect the functioning of the flash?

Functionally it wont hurt it , but if its new theres no way I'd accept a product in that condition , where did you get it ?
Those arnt cheap , I would not accept a scratched product , it could be somebody elses refurbed return !
