    I can't stand these reports where they don't name the top performer and just rank
    where we came. Anyone know who was the top performer in reading and literacy.
    Apparently Finland were tops in Science and Maths...

    Not a whole lot of information is right. The department of education website has a bit more on it and the report can be downloaded(PDF)

    The full PISA report won't be published until 2008 (as said in press release linked).

    Just looking at the PDF now, top 3 for the categories are.... *drum roll*

    Science
    • Finland
    • Hong Kong-Ch
    • Canada

    Reading
    • Korea
    • Finland
    • Hong Kong-Ch

    Mathematics
    • Chinese Taipei
    • Finland
    • Hong Kong-Ch

    Finland and Hong Kong in top 3 for all categories!

    Yeah but Finland also had a student shooting up a school, maybe its some kind of trade off. 1000 smart kids for one pyscho, ah but then America would be topping every category. I dunno.
