Make sure you're using a bog-standard wallplate so that the DC current isn't blocked.

Make sure the power is enabled for the TV link in the first place. You might have got instructions with the TV link on how to do this.

If the cable isn't crimped properly on every connection, there could easily be a short circuit in one of the joints.

You have to turn on the power on the RF2 port.
There is a hidden menu on the Sky box. Press Services then 4 0 1 then select.
Then go to RF Output in the menu and turn on the power from the menu.

The first thing I would do is to connect the TV directly to the one in the sitting room without going through the wall plates. If you get the same problem then it is most likely that the power is not enabled on the RF2 port (as mentioned by dkane).

If this is not the cause then (as ethernet says) you may have to change your coaxal wall plates because some of them block the DC current.

You could also consider putting in a TV Link compatible amplifier to boost the signal (may not be needed).

This is what I had to do and it worked perfectly in the end.

Have the same problem. Power is fine to the TV Link as green light is on. However most times the remote won't work. If I continue trying for anything up to five minutes, I may get a response but it is always hit and miss and very annoying.

Wallplate is not blocking DC as green light on link is lit.

I have two TV links in different rooms and the TV Link amplifier and I have the same problem in both rooms.
    Any ideas????

Something I have noticed before is that if any other cable is near the one carrying my sky link signal in the attic that the remote might not work even when the light is on. Just moving the cables apart in the attic sorts it.

It does sound lik OPs problem is the power on RF2 though.

I have a strange one and it might be something similar for you. Have had the TV Link for the past 9 months in 4 rooms via attic and it was working fine. Recently it only began working during the daytime and not the daytime. We could still get picture & sound but the remote wasn't functioning I went through the process of checking connections, wallplates, cabling etc. and still no joy. I contacted Satellite installers and they couldn't help me out and no one knew why it only worked during the day.

Anyway, one evening I was sitting in the kitchen with my kids watching TV and it was working fine, then when we switched on our kitchen cabinet lighting, the remote wouldn't work. Hey presto, source of problem found. Obviously the lights are shorting the TV link circuit or something similar. Now if we have to use the sky remote anywhere in the house, we have to make sure that the kitchen cabinet lighting is turned off. Not ideal but at least we now know what the problem is. Now I just have to find a way to stop the lights impacting on the remote when they are turned on.
