I've given the mini view a go yesterday and this morning, I've set it up with ibolide and DVDFan's pahud layout for miniview(cheers for that DVDFan btw :) ) but I really don't like it at all, find it so much harder to follow the action when I have several tables open, is it a question of just getting used to it, I really can't imagine myself ever liking it though.

You'll get used to it. Its >>> than having overlaps everywhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,953 ✭✭✭dvdfan

I found the same and used it for about 2 weeks, its much harder to concentrate on the action, i dont so much mind the the cards, i used the cards ending in scht or something similar but its just harder to follow the action, you do get used to it and its better than having to use 2 monitors as that can be hard to concentrate on aswell, resizeable mini tables FTW

    Resizable would be sooooo good
The mini tables are horrible to play on
Especially for that 4 card holdem I've heard about :)

I got used to it, but loast a bit of money trying as concentration was low.

were people actually playing 4-6 tables with full overlap? That would drive me insane

I found it pretty easy to adjust too 4 tabling even with alot of pahud stats on diplay, is it your resolution maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

I briefly switched to 9 tablign miniview but its impossuble to play. The cards are too small and the action seems much quicker. Now i play 6 tables again with a small bit of overlap on 2 tables. Nothing annoying though. My res is 1920x1200 so looks fine.

I'm playing 4-6 tables on miniview, depending on how i'm feeling really. Does take a while to get used to, although it's funny now if i go back to the full size tables they look ridiculously big. Just recently started using the 4 coloured deck which is handy. I gots all greens i win.

Some people might remember from a recent poker monitor thread that I bought a Dell 3007 WFP, that has a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 :D, so nah I don't think it's the size of my resolution that's a prob. ;)

I was playing up to 10 full size tables on iPoker on two monitors with no overlap on the main monitor and a small bit on the second.

It was the most tables I ever played at one time and I seemed to manage better than i expected.

I wanted to try the miniview to give a go at playing even more tables. I opened up 16 but the way I keep missing out on hands and missing when it comes to posting blinds initally was very frustrating, I never managed to get to play beyond bout 5 or so.

I think there's no way I could manage 6 or 7, never mind 16 in miniview. So I'm just going to settle for playing a max of 10 at the mo full size.

You get used to it but I am very cautious with 88 preflop as about 20% of the time one of them is really a 6.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

I couldn't play more than a couple of tables in full size, it really is an ugly interface and disproportionately big. I have two monitors but I struggle to pay attention to tables on both at the same time, it's just so far to keep turning my head every time a table pops up. So usually I have 6-8 tables in miniview on one monitor and a web browser, music player, IM clients, etc on the other.

Well with the cards you can check the chat thingy to see what you have if you're not sure...

The only way I can use miniview is with this set of cards.

    allcards2fn2.png

The 8 is readable using these.

    cardsww3.jpg

Also you don't need ibolide to change the skins, you can just run a batch file to copy the files you want after the client loads.

My batch looks like this and works fine. The ping is just to give the client time to loadup and/or update, as Xp has no sleep function.

    copy C:\Poker\mods\originals\back2_original.jpg "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\topview\back2.jpg"
    copy C:\Poker\mods\originals\allcards2_original.png "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\topview\cards\allcards2.png"
    copy C:\Poker\mods\originals\small_back2_original.jpg "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\smallview\back2.jpg"
    START C:\Poker\"Noble Poker"\casino.exe
    ping -n 22 www.yahoo.com
    copy C:\Poker\mods\back2.jpg "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\topview\back2.jpg"
    copy C:\Poker\mods\allcards2.png "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\topview\cards\allcards2.png"
    copy C:\Poker\mods\smallview\grey.jpg "C:\Poker\Noble Poker\data\table\smallview\back2.jpg"

Obv you need to edit to your specific client and what images you want to use.

personally i think ipokers software is pathetic - if only they had a software update to replicate the resizeable tables of full tilt and stars

Well looking at that pic at the very least you get to keep the Blackjack button :). I multi-table 3/4 tables full size with slight overlap (i.e. drop the chat box entry below the screen etc.) and the only real annoyance for me is if a decision comes up on more than one table and I do something on one of them the other table won't beep at me again to remind me I need to go to that.

lol, probably easy to get rid of the blackjack button, all other buttons work fine, I should have sat at a table to show. The client is still the worst I've played on, but the network is so fishy...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,201 ✭✭✭Macspower

yeah only played it about 10 mins ago...... I was always ahead.... he 3 bet me preflop for the third time in 2 orbits.. my plan was to shove over his c bet on a rag flop but he checked behind on the flop so it reeks of AK.. I bet the turn and he calls prob havingpicked up the heart draw.... the river is a blank... so the only way I can get him to put more money in is to check to him and CRAI.....

Think my read was right as he folded...

Instead of a mini view, why not have resizable tables where the cards and text stay the same size but the rest of the table shrinks.

give that man a job with i-poker.....

Resizeable tables is a must or just make the ones they have a bit smaller so 4 can fit on an average screen.. that would suit most people i think?
