    Hi,

After many years away from the sport, I hope to return to Clay Shooing this new year.
Thing is, when I used to do it, it was in fields dotted around the country.
I live in Dublin now and wouldn't have a huge mount of time to be heading into the country to shoot.

Is there any clubs around Dublin I could join?
I presume like everything else here its not cheap ?
    I am in West Dublin.

    Thanks for your help guys
    Rob

I should use my awesome Modpowers to edit the thread title, but 'Clay Pigeon Shooing' conjures up an image that's too good to mess with. :D
It sounds exactly like what I do with them, to be honest:
"Shoo, shoo, go away little clay pigeon, I don't want to hurt you."

Anyhow, Hilltop and Courtlough spring immediately to mind, I'm sure the proper clay shooters will have more informed advice.

Hilltop in newtownmountkennedy will afford you a warm welcome. I can't reccommend them highly enough! www.pcquad.com

Depending on where in West Dublin you are choose the nearest. Courtlough is just outside Balbriggan and Newtownmountkennedy speaks for itself. They're both good and very well equipped

Rumour has it that there is a new Clay Pigeon and Shooting range opening up in the new year between Kilcock and Summerhill. Heres hoping its true.

Courtlough? I thought it was just a place you could go shooting I didn't know it's a club as well. Excellent :D:D

Don't forget the ECSC in Roundwood. They are a members club, not a business, and cater for clay pidgeon, rifle and pistol shooting. PM me for directions and background.

Is Courtlough a real shooting club or more of a discounts for members type of club?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 857 ✭✭✭Corega

I think it's more discount for members, but there's usually a good number of people up there, most of them seem to be members. I'm living on the southside so it's a royal pain in the ass to get up there...the car journey is an hour and a half there and the same back for 30 minutes or so of clays. Though it's worth it to be able to shoot on the high tower they have. Anybody know if Hilltop has a similiar setup?
