Posting a largeish item

    Hey,

I'm planning on selling my games console over ebay, but have never bought or sold anything larger than cds/dvds on ebay before. I was wondering what is the standard way most people would send a package that size - by courier or an post. Also how much (ball park) would the cheapest option be, or would that be frowned upon? Finally is there anything I'd be expected to do make sure it gets there safe and sound?

Any advice much appreciated, and apologies if its not the right forum!

    :)

Boxed and packed with good packing material would be a definite. Some sort of trackable post, registered or special delivery too. Maybe restrict bidders to Ireland too, it would be prohibitive to post overseas.

Check the cost of delivery on anpost.ie, weigh the console if necessary.

I sent a Wii from Dublin to Shannon last week.

    Costs were:
Box and bubble wrap from easons: 4 euro
Registered post for 4.1 kg 16 euro
    500 euro insurance 5 euro.

So apart from time and effort, the cost to send it was 25 euro.

Sent it at 3pm, it arrived 10am next day.
