Hacking payment card "security codes"

    This article suggests that the CVV code in the signature space of a payment card is "hackable" - which presumably means that their is a mathematical relationship between the card number and the CVV - which surprises one.

    I don't think that the two numbers are anyway related.

    I think what they mean is the source (that one is to hack) that gives you the credit card number also gives you the CCV2 number.
