Cadbury's Gorilla Advert

Has anyone seen Cadbury's latest adverts with the Gorilla?

What do you guys think of it (them)? I have to say I really like them, the missus and myself burst out laughing the first few times when we saw them. From what I can see they have really very little to do with Cadbury's, they don't seem to promote or feature the product in any way that I can tell. If there's a link there I can't see it.

But I love the fact that it's so different and off the wall and it'd certainly make me go out and buy the product. Kudos for whoever came up with the idea but more so for the marketing manager who approved it.

kudos to the people that coerced you into wasting your money on something you didn't need.

    kudos indeed.

PPfffttt to you Mordeth. OK taking away it's intended purpose do you not think it's a good advert? It's off the wall, it's even a little ludicrous. Look at all of the awful adverts that are still on the TV, say for washing powder, or those dubbed adverts for other chocolates or such.

Do you not think it deserves a little credit for being inventive?

As for not needing it? Perhaps your right but I like a little chocolate with my coffee!

I think it is a boring advert. Perhaps it is because of the **** song they used. Terribly over rated advertisement.

Excellent ad. Are they still showing it?

First of all, the ad blows because they're using Phil Collins. It's like listening to your Dad sing. Secondly, they've used a Gorilla playing drums to sell chocolate. A Gorilla! The things that pick their arse and eat their sh*t when they're not flinging it at someone else, have permanently runny nostrils, and have body hair which is home to hundreds of nits and ticks. Way to sell chocolate!

Wow I thought it was fairly new. I've only seen it recently.

I would hazard a guess that the ad has increased brand awareness. It's the only ad anyone has mentioned to me in conversation recently.

When you think of the colossal amount of crap ads out there, the gorilla ad is very clever and very funny. Hats off to the marketing team behind it.

It obviously worked if everyone keeps talking about it. Isnt that what makes a good advert?

Sorry, I don't get it either.

I'll have to watch it again and look for NLP subliminals like the one they put in the Millers ad.

    Tin-foil hat time!

If you're going to be honest about it nothing can compete on the level of the cillit bang ads.

My favorite at the moment is the stop-motion bunny ad for Sony

I would have thought an increase in sales would be the way of telling if an ad is a success. I remember that Bodyform ad and people used to talk about how loud the woman screeching was. Didn't mean men everywhere went out and bought Bodyform.

not any more mossy, it's all about 'brand awareness' these days. People have to be thinking of you whenever you can make them, the thinking is that purchasing and brand loyalty follows

Well I agree Phil Collins is a bizarre choice but I don't think everyone thinks of gorilla's in the same way as you ned! I reckon that maybe people see them as somewhat comical.
