Nightvision question from pictures thread

Just browsing this thread, and so far, I love tikkamarks' gun, shown here.

Not a shooter myself, nor a fan of shooting for the sport, but I do support shooting to protect ones livestock.

Finally, a question for the night hunters: have any of ye ever tried using night vision scope, or do ye find it's too costly to get a decent one?

Moved from the piuctures thread. NV rifle scopes are restricted in Ireland and have to be licenced/authorised by your local Superindentant. Rumour has it their hard to get but in reality I think that decet one are so expensive that no one has bothered.

A half decent NV rifle scope would be €2500+

Starlight Archer monocular unit would be a good one. I know of a few lads in the UK who use them. Agree with Rew on getting permish to use them, we're so backwards it's embaressing!

Not a Night Vision Scope but my Night Vision Monocular with case..... Fab for scanning the fields at night if you didn't want to use a lamp.

Thinking of selling it as I have not used it that often for shooting. But handy for anywhere dark, also has an IR button for extended night vision.
