New Putter...

    Lads,

I know there was a similiar thread relatively recently but thought there'd be no harm getting a bit of debate going again...

I'm going to change putter and have decided to go for a mallet-head style (like a Oddesey 2Ball) with a heavy-ish head...

Had a few strokes of a Ping Craz-E (mallet head) recently and it really made me realise my putter (Ping blade) is too light... I really liked the 'feel' off the Craz-E and might go for one of those...

Any other suggestions? I'm going to trade in two clubs for it, a decent Nike 3Wood and my current putter. Both in relatively good nick, how much do you think I could get for them off the new putter?

    Whip It!

I recently bought a new putter after failing to get to grips with an Odyssey 2-ball. It's only a few months old and as new so if you're interested give me a PM.

I went back to the old traditional style with the Taylor Made Rossa Daytona. Absolutely loving it so far!

Thanks Graeme, but I'm just not keen on the 2Balls. I've tried them out several times and they just don't feel right to me - you know how it is with a putter, it's all about being comfortable with them...

Appreciate the offer though, thanks Buddy...

No probs mate, just thought i'd offer. I know what you mean about being comfortable with a putter. I went for the latest trend rather than the one i liked best when i bought the Odyssey. An expensive lesson learned! The new one was half the price but is far more effective!

Everytime I say I am getting rid of my putter I start holing everything inside 10 feet.

Putting is really a confidence thing and a must is a putter you like in your hands

Am playing tomorrow so I'll throw a few "Now listen here you!" threats at the putter in the carpark beforehand... worth a try!

    Thanks for the Trampas :p

Whip it, I got a Ping Redwood Piper S in May, absolutely love it, highly recommended, lovely bit of weight in it and a nice rounded mallet head.
Plus a beautiful milled face and sort of brass look on the head, as is the style with all Redwoods, a cracker!!

Couldn't ask for more from a putter, a bit steep though, Premier Golf wanted €270 for it but I got it on ebay for €140, and don't worry it's genuine:D

    Highly recommended.

Thanks for that JC - will check it out...

Just thinking, I still have my last set of irons in the shed, they're in great nick. Might lump them in with the 3Wood and putter and see if I can find a friendly Golf Shop manager to let me trade them in against a new putter.

Also, can you tell me the name of the online shop/seller you got your own one off JC?

    Thanks again.
