Well folks, any comments on the specs there, am a big coffee fan and i would like to be able to make the odd espresso or latte at home, are the specs any good for the price?

    [I've found my boards.ie refuge]

I would be no authority on coffee makers, but the quality of items from Aldi cannot be called into question.

30 day money back guarantee, for any reason.

I saw one of the Lidl machines up close when I was in Europe last week. Didn't actually get to test it out, but picked it up and gave it a good look over - it was horrible, really lightweight, didn't feel like it would last any time at all, evidently cheap components... wouldn't touch one with a barge pole personally, as I doubt it would withstand any amount of use or make decent espresso.

Probably a bit late for MM but I have the Aldi machine and would recommend it highly.

I just got the Aldi coffee maker yesterday. I have owned a DeLonghi EC702 and this compares well. Considering the DeLonghi is twice or three times the price i'd say I got a lot of bang for my buck.

The Aldi coffee maker is manual fill. In other words you need to turn a knob to stop the coffee pouring once your cup is full. I found this a good feature as I use different size cups.

The height of cup it can accomadate is better than the more expensive coffee / espresso makers I have used but still fails to fit a standard mug. You need to use coffee cups. I have a novelty coffee cup that holds a pint and it can fit under this machine. Low and wide is the cup you need here.

The 15 bar pump is the same strengh as the expensive machine. The crema is actually better. As is standard it has two filters for making either one cup of two at a time. I highly recommend buying the Senseo coffee pods Tesco sell. It's way easier than measuring out coffee grounds and cheap (under €3 for a pack of 18? pods).

Overall excellent machine. I just have to wait and see how it ages. I love my coffee and I know good from bad so I would put my opinion out there as informed.

Hope this review is of help.
