I dunno how to start this.I suppose it all began in America. While there I was smoking weed and it suddenly hit me "That some day I would die and that would be the end"

All I have been able to think about lately when I a on my own is death. It scares me.I have exams coming up and although I spend most of the day trying to study. Not one single question would I be able to answer.I feel like crap.

I presume you are still not smoking? Because it WILL make any low feelings you may be having alot more intense.

Firstly - it's not uncommon to get stressed and worried about exams - I remember my final year I was on the edge -really thought I was going to crack. I'm terrible at studying and I tend to go blank in exams and thus panic when trying to remember things. But don't worry - you just need to find a method that works for you - I used to do things in short slots, so as not to be stuck on the same subject for hours. do out practise answers, writing them out a few times will help them stay in your head sometimes. Don't study for massive hours at a time, do maybe 2hrs and have a break watch some tv or something - block studying I find gets me down & get procrastinative and bored.

As for the death thing - I'm scared sh*tless about death, I can really freak myself out if I think about it too much - your best bet is if those thoughts start to come into your head -do something, move - go start sorting something/throw on the tv/radio - distract your thoughts.

*hug* I know feeling like crap there can sometimes be not a whole lot someone can say to make you feel better. Right now you feel awful and saying 'you'll be fine' isn't a whole lot of comfort. BUT - it's normal to feel like this sometimes, everyone goes through it, all different ways. We all get our ups and downs and it can be hard to see when the next up will be. Don't give up though - it does come.

Everyone that smokes a lot of weed or takes recreational drugs reaches a point where they crash, and from then on they have to be careful about how much drugs they smoke or take. Happened to me when i went nuts on a J1 in the US 7 years ago - i spent a couple of years getting my head together again. Anyway, the point is, you will be ok, just keep away from drugs completely, especially psychedelic drugs. i agree with togsters post, drugs make any low feelings you may be having a lot more intense. You need to stop smoking and do your serious thinking with a clear head

Dazzler, you're coming to the point in your life when people around you start to die - be it grandparents, parents or even people you know yourself. the same thing happenend to me as well, I lost a good friend and started thinking "damn - I'm not going to go on forever". Would it be true to say that you are split between worrying about dying yourself, and how you would cope if someone close to you died? How much of your day do you spend thinking about this? It may be that subconciously you are worrying about your exams, which causes anxiety, and you are pushing that emotion onto your fears about death (because it's easier to subject yourself to that - you can help yourself wrt to exams, but you can't prevent death"). Hopefully you'll feel much better once the exams are done.

We're all going to die, it's a given.
It's how you deal with life that's important.
