I was just wondering as i am new to all of this. When putting the lens cap on without a filter on it sets into the lens and from what i see the locking mechanism does not touch the glass. On putting a filter on he lens then putting a lens cap on, the locking mechanism on the cap seems to slid along the glass as it locks. Can someone tell me if this can scratch the filter? Or do you even use a lens cap when using a filter,i presume you do:confused:
Hope you can understand my question, its not the best construction of a query:o

no matter what kind of filter youre using (apart from maybe those low profile ones), the part that holds on the lens cap should only make contact with the threads on the inside of the filter ring. You shouldnt have anything dragging across the glass. The cap will essentially sit on the edge of the threaded ring but shouldnt touch the glass.
