Just back from Vienna, where they take Christmas very seriously, and I thought I'd share a few of my shots. Any comments and suggestions would be much appreciated!

Looks pretty colourful. Was planning on going there on my Christmas holiday last year, but have 2 other trips I must attend instead (Woe is me ;) )

I'd like to see that last one in a high contrast black and white.

Cheers! Flights were very cheap to get there: €50 return with Ryanair to Bratislava and a €6 bus to Vienna. Well worth a visit around this time of year.

As for B & W suggestion, I'll give it a go as soon as I get photoshop installed on the pc

Not sure about the composition of 1 - it was obviously a aesthetically pleasing tree but the light in the top left of the image and the light viewable in the mirror kinda distracts from it for me. maybe it was one that you 'had to be there' to experience?

the scene for number 2 looks quite magical - i just wonder if there may have been a better vantage point available (maybe not!). the natural busyness that the crowd carries into the picture and while your eye will naturally pick up on the magical aspects of the scene(buildings, lights, deep evening sky), you then invariably ask yourself 'whats going on in the bottom of the image' - but, as a photographic memory i think it is one that will have you reliving the holiday break again and again with much joy.

number 3 i think is great. the colours, the light, etc... you see many of these kinda shots - sweetshop display, fish monger stalls(slightly yeuchy), vegetable sellers wares, beans, balls, etc.. but you captured something rather nice here. for me its the best of the three - the one that you might decide to enlarge or perhaps use as a desktop background. An enlarged version in square format would be mighty nice as an addition to your Christmas decorations to be pulled out and hung up each year. If trying as a square format, perhaps try to crop the visible line (top left) out of the image.

    Well done. Cheers.
