Sending NTL around a house

    Hey,

I'm going to buy a flatscreen for the bedroom. Only problem is the NTL (bog standard here, not the digital one) is only wired to downstairs. I've seen tv senders in argos and that. Would I be able to utilise one of these for my NTL so that I can watch what I like in my bedroom regardless of what is on the TV down below?

    Cheers

    JF

Those video senders are for set-top boxes. It seems not all will be able to relay commands to the NTL decoder either.

If you'll settle for analogue on the second TV, pick up a distribution amplifier. You feed your NTL connection from the wallplate into this. It will amplify the signal and split it a few ways, often two or four, depending on what device you buy.

If the signal is already fairly strong and the cable run won't be too long -- and provided you use good quality cable -- then you might get away with a plain old y-splitter, i.e. split the signal but no amplification on any output.
