I might be brave and post up a picture of me and my brother visiting Santa in Navan shopping centre many years ago where he was crying. Santa used to terrify him. :p

Has anybody ever seen pictures of kids that were actually smiling in these situations?

Any pic I have seen of myself or the mates, Santa looks bored and we look absolutely terrified..

We used to always go to the local hall to visit some local santa that stank of drink, so the year my older brother brought me to the one in Clerys, I was more excited than ever before.
Big build up to it with a huge queue out the door, and all through the shop. I stood there amazed at all the elves and reindeer and what not and couldnt wait to get to see Santy.
When I finally got to see him, the dirty fecker told me I was "too old" to be seeing Santa, (I was about 6, but I looked about 9ish) and refused to give me a present. My brother was only about 12 so didnt argue the fact, and I left feeling that I would never forgive Clerys what they had done. It cost about £6 to get in as well.
Seeing how sad I was at what had happened, my brother brought me to a cheap nasty santa somewhere off Moore Street. For the £1 admission, he gave me a huge big black formula one car which I loved, and I went home with a big grin on me.
Shame on you Clerys santa though, shaaaaame on you.

We used to go to Clearys where the parcels were crap then Arnotts started doing the Lego Exhibition so we switched to them to get lego parcels and see all the displays etc :D I rememeber the Teddy Ruxpins and Fraggles on the shelves :D

In Galway we used to see the Moons' Santa and Glynn's. Kept going until I was way too mature to.
What are your memories of visiting Santa?

I remember one year going to see santa in Stephens Green Shopping center. I think it was around 1988/89, perhaps it may have been the year it opened too, I'm not sure. Anyways they had very unchristmassy a Space theme. It was kinda cool. There was a big spaceship room and a thing with buttons that you were allowed to press. I remember when we were finished the santa visit we got in a 'magic lift' thing and the man operating it said we might end up in the middle of Stephens Green Garden!
Well. Imagine my disappointment when we walked on the same floor as we got in :(

I remember going to stephen green santa once. It must of been over 20 years ago. I use to go to the one in crumlin shopping centre every year but the one is stephens green seemed more special. I think we went into see the windows with all the puppets and me and my sister begged my ma to bring us into santa. Poor woman probably didnt have the money but still brought us in. I think i got a green car.

Cant believe i remembered that. I tought i destroyed all them memorys with beer.

I remember going to Arnotts in Glasgow with my Dad and my big bro, we got abook each, but the best bit was we got to go to McDonalds afterwards, it had only opened about two years beforehand so we were delighted!

The Lego thing was cool. And the Switzers windows. But did anyone ever manage to pull off Santas beard?
