Another Angleshoot/Ethics/Etiquette Thread

It seems these days angleshooting is in danger of becoming the new black. So in time honoured bandwagonjumping fashion here is my question.

Would you consider this bad etiquette, unethical or another example of angleshooting? Personally I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

A couple of months back myself and a few friends were out for the night. About 2 in the morning we headed into the local casino. My two friends went over to the table games whilst I sat into the poker game with €100.

As I was sitting down PlayerA winks to PlayerB (I didn't know either of them and I don't think they knew me) and mutters under his breath "Looks like a live one".

As a defense solicitor might say in the district court "he'd a few pints on board, but not a danger to anyone", but I put on a slight speed wobble whilst sitting down just to confirm their suspicions.

The game was 1-2 nlh. I clumsily put my stack of 5 euro chips in a heap and was dealt in. Then the miracle happened first card A second card A.....

"Hmm" I reflect and as drunkenly and sloppily as I can manage I push the chips in the middle whilst leaving out a loud beer belch for good effect.

The two boys can't get their chips in quick enough....... I felt like I was in a tourney. The checked it down to try and bust the allin man..But the AA stood up against KJ and Q8.:D:D

I proceed to make much merriment when the cards go over and I scoop the pot!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

The two boys were NOT impressed:mad:

    Any complaints?

    And what happened next?

I wouldn't have seen anything wrong with the bit of play-acting on your part, you did have a few pints on board after all!

What happened next? Please don't tell me that after you were awarded the pot they complained that your all-in raise pre flop was a string bet or something like that! I once played in a cash game down under where someone tried some skull-duggerry in that vein after losing a big pot, but the rest of the table erupted to help ensure that justice was served.

Wait, who's doing the angle shooting here. This is pretty bad form from the 2 boyo's, but at least karma sorted them out. Although their skill level probably would have done so anyway (KJ and Q8... LOL)

To cut along story short, after a "I don't believe you fell for that" type slagging one of the players complained to the manager and I was given a tip on the shoulder and asked to leave.

Name and shame if it's true. You can't post something like this and leave it hanging.

If those are the full facts of the story then it is a joke and the place should be ashamed of themselves.

However, I get the image in my head of Homer remembering his quiet soiree instead of the actual drunken rampage.

    Great work DP... :D

Also, that is pretty poor form from the house alright assuming there's no "Missing Scene"

exactly what did they complain to the manager about?

if it was about your performance the manager should have said that you deserver an oscar for your performance.

you had a right to retort with the fact that they were colluding against you.

Think it's bad form to say "I can't believe you fell for that." Even so, there is no need for them to kick you out. This is OTT anda little ridiculous.

thats kinda like making a big bluff and showing it and then getting kicked out for doing so
