Amazon.com for books

I ordered from amazon.com the other day, there's an option to pay in euro or dollars, I chose dollars and it was shipped the next day - on other occasions there have been delays for weeks.

The dollar is falling against the euro
I'm guessing they're changing their cash reserves to euro as fast as they can, hence if you pay in dollars they'll expedite your order.
If you pay in euro, they charge a smidgen over the odds on the exchange rate (checked against xe.com) plus there's no rush on your order.

Am I missing something or are there cases where paying them in euro is best?
