I would advise you to be very careful about using bargain basement airlines in that part of the world... do your homework on their safety record before booking and avoid ALL Indonesian carriers including Garuda if at all possible.

I was working in Jakarta a couple of weeks ago - nice enough, but I wouldn't be mad to go again. I flew from Jakarta to Bangkok, took about 3 hours, I went with Garuda. If you DO go to Jakarta, be prepared to spend most of your time sitting in traffic :)

Id recommend not spending too long in Manila, and heading to Pulawan instead. Its absolutely beautiful. Fly with Cebu Pacific. Air Asia are better than any of the indonesian airlines which are scary to say the least. In Indonesia, dont miss Bali, Lombok and the Gilli islands. You'll love it.

http://www.cebupacificair.com/ very affordable and a reliable airline with new airbus aircraft. Flights from Bangkok to Manila and Cebu.

Cheers ian, checked them out €77 from cebu to jakarta and €75 from bkk to manila. not too bad!! Do you think the price would increase much getting closer to the departure dates?

Even a substantial increase in Peso would not equate to much when converted back to Euro. Try booking yourself on a flight in two weeks time and see what the difference is. I doubt it will increase by much.
