What printer cartridges to use with Lexmark X2500????

    I got a Lexmark x2500 printer from Aldi recently but can I use printer cartridges that aren't Lexmark with it -I got a colour one that I was told was suitable but when I installed it didn't work, I just keep getting a message that it's not compatible when I try to print......:(. Anyone got any ideas?

    Lexmark x2500 printer:

    Black: (Lexmark # 34)

    Colour: (Lexmark # 35)

    Photo Colour: (Lexmark # 31)
