Or am I the only loser?

For example if someone says something that is in effect both funny and harsh, it would be farsh.

Or if someone is stupid and ugly, I would call them stugly. (not that I would ever call anyone ugly).

    Other examples include.

Vagenis i.e that woman has a Vagenis. She is a transvestite.

    Anyone else?

I stopped doing it all the time on Boards.ie when people kept replying or PM'ing to "type in English". ¬_¬

You just take a moment there and think long and hard about why that is. ;)

Well, i'd say a lot more people use it during speech rather than typing. But also, people might stop you and ask you what the hell you just said.

No, you're the only one. The first, even. You are so intelligent. How would you like to call over to my place for brunch?

    This thread is pure edutainment.

    I prefer 'wordging' myself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,714 ✭✭✭✭Earthhorse

Sometimes I do it for whole sentences or threads. For instance this thread can be summarised with the word:

    WordmergeshobbyfinedoleportdullgestwergsemigoodsporkmannyfirstdoingEnglishhardspeechquitelosersbrunchhatesbrotherwordging.

    I love having a werge :D

Making up new words out of existing ones is great and should be actively encouraged.

Brunch exists because of this. So does Linner.

    I also like accidental Spoonerisms.

see you're not the only one. from this thread we have found out that a lot of us like to dabble in the world of Werging! Long live the werging!

like isn't the german language based on this for nouns and stuff

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,619 ✭✭✭Fast_Mover

Ya, theres alot for word merging in German when two nouns come together.
    Eg: das Mittagessen= Mittag+Essen
    Lunch= midday+food

    etc...
