    Well Mick KS or Denman

Its a hell of a tough call, Denman looks tailor made for the Gold Cup and if hes in front at the bottom of the hill ill find it hard to see anything getting near him but on the other hand Kauto Star is the best horse ive seen and travels so well. Ruby has the toughest decision ever!!!

Best handicap performance I've seen and he wasn't even fully fit for today.Paul Nicholls says his first main target is the Lexus chase. If he does go for that it looks like a one horse race as the only Irish horse who could possibly compete is Kicking King who won't be ready to do himself justice even assuming he ever comes back to his best.

Denman was so impressive. Look forward to seeing his RPR figures

    Really impressive.

Some ride alright. Would have been a more interesting race I reckon if Snowy Morning hadn't of fallen so eary. Fair play to Nicholls though, the horse was in some shape for a horse that wasn't meant to be in the best of shape!

Reckon Ruby will ride Kauto Star though.

Good day for National Hunt followers with Harchibald winning in style aswell!

Had 'Snowy Morning' backed but wasn't so bothered in the end after witnessing a machine! Great to watch.

Reminded me of the Derby earlier in the year when 'Authorized' blitzed the field; again I had a different horse backed (Eagle Mountain) but was not bothered witnessing another machine!

My sentiments exactly. Carrying 11 stone 12 to win by 11 lengths in what can defintely be described as very testing ground was an amazing sight.
I was on Snowy Morning as well but watching Denman's performance (almost) made up for losing my cash. Should be a cracking Gold Cup. Hopefully Kicking King comes back fully fit too for that to make it even more interesting

Stating the obvious, great performance considering he's not meant to be fully fit, however lets not get too carried away. There is no way anyone can tell me that either exotic dancer or Kauto Star wouldn't have won a weak hennessy off a mark of 161, asuming Denman gets a stone for that it still leaves him a few pounds behind last years big 2. I said something similar last year when Detroit city won a bad handicap hurdle (the greatwood) off a mark of 148, basically that it was nothing the likes of hardy, Inca etc couldn't have done but it made DC a major player. Remember well chief won a handicap chase pulling hand springs off 176 (beating the subsequent Ryanair chase winner) but still couldn't beat the best 2m chaser of modern times off level weights at the festival.

Not knocking the horse in the slightest but just saying not get carried away yet. Kauto is still the one to beat IMO. However Denman couldn't have made a more impressive start to the season and I can't wait to see him at leopardstown. Looking forward to the gold cup a lot of people are saying a good early pace might be Kauto's undoing and if Denman bullies his way to the front early and tries to, in the words of Alistair Downs, 'brutalise them' again it'll make for an interesting finish.

PS I detest Nicholls so I would die of laughter if Beef beats him in the Lexus *wakes up from long dream*

Out of curiosity why do you hate Paul Nicholls? Not too fond of him myself at the moment after him advising all week not to back Denman.

Pompous windbag who's full of ****. When Nicholls has a good horse it always takes me a while to accept how good they are as he talks them up so much.

I always remember when strong flow came back from injury. Ran in a pertemps qualifier and was heavily backed. Beaten, straight after Nicholls comes out with his usual 'we're delighted with that, it'll put him spot on for the Aon chase'. Runs in the Aon, beaten. 'We're delighted with that, it'll put him spot on for the gold cup'.

Anytime Azertyioup was beaten by Moscow Flyer he always had a ready made excuse, most made no sense and others contradicted statements he'd made before or excuses he'd mde before.

Denmans gone up 15lbs for his Hennessy romp which leaves him 3lb below Kauto Star. Amazing to have 3 175+ rated chasers around at the one time.

As for the gold cup Like yesterday's Hennessy, no prisoners will be taken with a proper gallop, they'll be strung out like a line of washing at the top of the hill, let alone the bottom of it. But Kauto star has only beaten whats in front of him. I can see him travelling like a dream off the likely strong pace set by Denman and battle as Denman will i just cant see him not going past.

Great performance yesterday but Kauto still the one to beat IMO

and Ruby 120% rides KS in the Gold cup no question.

Hes not lettin Sam have his cut of the 1 million bonus

Not really a big deal imo, they carry 11 10lbs in the gold cup and so the weight wont matter to denman, it wont affect him he was always going to run his race. im sure they felt he was 'well in' off 161 so he won as he was expected to for the 180 rated chaser they expect him to be.

they group behind were a bunch or overrated handicappers for the most part

Kauto Star probably wins that hennessy of 179 imo

so I would die of laughter if Beef beats him in the Lexus *wakes up from long dream*

this is not as far fetched as you might think, on the bog that will be leopardstown over christmas, it WILL be a lot softer than it was at the weekend the beef will be staying on very strongly in the last mile.

Too bad Ruby and Denman will already be in the showers when he starts to stay on LMAO

Its about his mark not his weight, horses have often been bottomed for the season after huge weight carrying performances like that. The talk pre race i dont think they were confident he was well in but he was always going to go close i thought. Kauto Star would not win off 179 imo.

I didnt see your last part till i went to quote you, you were about to on the receiving end of an barrage of abuse. :)
