Whats going on at Area 51

    A New Hanger Under Construction!:eek::):eek:

I'm sure this will be of interest to some. Over the summer, construction work has started on a massive new Hangar at Area 51 (Groom Lake).

    http://www.dreamlandresort.com/area51/sat_image_2007_05.html

This is now the biggest hangar at the base and to put it into perspective, it could comfortably fit the An-225 ( Biggest Aircraft In The World ) or two B-52Hs or four B-2s!

You can also see an earlier image of the construction on Google Earth.

Maybe it's to test the new Hypersonic bomber the USAF hopes to field from 2018!

Then again:The current retirement plans for the F-117 Stealth Fighter known as the "NightHawk" call for it to be stored securely.

I think the US Air Force are happy for Google Earth to show high res pictures of Groom Lake. They are never going to leave anything secret sitting out there in daylight and it keeps people's interest in the place. They know where people are looking and they've got them all at a safe distance, meanwhile all the super secret stuff is going on elsewhere, don't ask me where, I don't know - but you can be guaranteed Google Earth isn't taking high res pictures of the place. I reckon there's still secret stuff going on at Groom Lake, just too many prying eyes for the top projects.

It's probably innocent enough- housing a UFO or something

Pfft, area51 is only a distraction. Everyone knows the Lizard Men have run the real secret base under the South Pole in conjunction with the Nazi's and freemasons.

    # We are the jockeys, jockeys are we, we live underground in a fibreglass tree! #

OK but seriously, weird how they deny all knowledge and existence of a place (apart from a couple references telling people they can't talk about it - weird!). I bet Ireland has a few of these places too. Probably in the back of some pub in Santry.

Maybe that's why they built it, to store these aircraft or that's where they are doing research on their successors. Saying that it's more likely, that Walt Disney have bought area 51 and hope to turn it into Disneyland Nevada.

Sure I think they extended the main runway there a few years ago. IIRC it is around 5 miles long now. Something big and fast must in the pipeline.

With a runway that long it must be very big & heavy

I happen to have seen copies of documents smuggled out by a now deceased ex-employee that hint to the development of some kind of low fat non-dairy spread with a real butter taste.

My life may be forfeit for just telling you this.

    Spread the word.

Well they did have aliens working for them at Roswell.

maybe there are aliens at roswell and the government wants to make everyone think that the aliens conspiracy is a myth, by pretending that there are aliens at Area 51, in disguising helicopters as flying saucers, spreading stories in the media etc, in order to disguise the fact that there really are aliens at Roswell!, That way they fool the more skeptical people who think the aliens story is just a cover for the testing of secret military aircraft while painting those who do claim there are aliens as crackpots.

Nearly right! Ikea have started a production unit for "popup" stores.
you load them into the back of a giant aircraft (hence the five mile runway) fly over enemy territory, drop it out the back of the plane and as it decends and the parachutes deploy, the store opens up and lands fully functional. Ready to clog up the streets the next morning on opening day.
