Creative Vision M problem

I cant seem get it working, it powers on alrite but after installing the cd that came with it, i keep getting that the usb has failed to recognise/malfunctioned and the battery wont charge up from the port. I ve tried different ports. Any suggestions?

You could try uninstalling the software and reinstalling it or maybe your cable is damaged and you should get a new one. I am probably saying something really stupid so don't follow my advise
