    His nickname is spelt "Evel" Knievel not "Evil" Knievel. He got this title from a prison warden when locked up for a minor traffic offense, Knievel didn't want his image to be associated with anything "evil" or with the notorious Hells Angels at the time so insisted in being called "Evel". His real name was Robert Robert Craig Knievel Jr. I stayed up all night as a kid to watch him jump the Canyon.

    as a kid in the 70's he was a true hero to me,would fly around the local building sites with my mates on bicycles trying to re-enact his legendary stunts,he will be sadly missed.
