    Hi folks.

    Do you reckon a max resolution of 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+) on 15.4" is a bad idea?

Would it be just too small and strain my eyes?

And the, if I lowered the res, as I'd be moving away from native res, would the screen look awful ?

i posted about that type of screen here

don't really have any problem with it

some web pages can be difficult to scale up to that resolution for easy viewing and sometimes (very rare for me to find this) software won't be well suited to the high res desktop

i'd leave it at native for everything except maybe playing a game and this doesn't really bother me

great thread, thank you very much

so, right now, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being "I'll definitely get the WSXGA+")
    I'm at about 7.

Hey man, I have my laptop and the screen is excellent. I don't strain my eyes at all and I'm very happy with it. Best of luck deciding.

Similar issue from Patricide over in Computers and Tech.

You do have the options of increasing icon and font size in Display properties if things are a bit small for you.

just been into PC World (Sligo) to see one of these WSXGA screens in action. Not one on display, not even in the 17" models.
