RV travel across Europe

    Hi,
Myself and a few friends are considering travelling across Europe in an RV in the summer for a month. We've looked at prices, insurance and all that but we'd love to hear some tales (cautionary or otherwise)/travel tips,/license advice/etc etc... that would help us in setting up this adventure.

Anyone got any experience hiring RVs in Europe? We're planning on hiring the RV on the mainland to cut the cost of travel across on ferry.

There'll be about 6 of us in all hoping to go so we'd love the advice.

    Thanks
    Patrick

    Patrick,
the best of luck on your trip, i have driven through france north to south and onto Italy on different occasions, you will have a great time, the services over their are super, a service stop every 20-30 miles. Be wary of toll sthough as they add up big time, think it cost me € 400 up and down france, north to south. Not too sure if you can avoid them, presume you can go off beaten track.
Lyon is a lovely city, Paris is obvious, but good too, try driving around the Arc de Triumphe, its an adventure in itself. Only roundabout in world that no insurance company will cover you on.
    Enjoy!!
