    Hi

I just got this tv out of the box and plugged in. Does anyone have any advice in general about this tv and specifically for the best settings to use for the first 500 or so hours?

Also, I just had a look at some football on setanta ireland on ntl digital and it didn't look great at all. Is this just because the tv is brand new? Or because setanta ireland is crap? Or because ntl digital is crap?

Good luck with your new set :D

check out the owners thread on avforums http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492888

you should be able to get the optimum setup there.

I have read a lot of people here and there (avforums) saying to change to normal or cinema mode and not use the dynamic settings as its sh!te. and for the first 200hrs or so keep brightness and contrast below 50%

I have the 42" on order and can't wait :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DD:D:D:D:D

Keep the colours and brightness down ,it can get tiring when everything is up high. The reds are great even when it's down:)

The plasmas are at their brightest for the first couple of hundred hours ,this is probably what is getting up your nose. Probably looks like colour bleeding.

I have read a lot of people here and there (avforums) saying to change to normal or cinema mode and not use the dynamic settings as its sh!te.

That pretty much goes for any flat panel , plasma or LCD , I dont know why its even in there , maybe it looks good in brightly lit shops or something.

For panasonics , in general , switch to normal , then bring everything else to about 50%. Usually does the trick.
