    Hi all,

As the title says, I am trying to decide between the above.
Looking to get either one and looking for opinions on which is better, reasons why etc?
I like footie, the missus likes rugby if that helps

    Thanks

i've had sky sports for ages and it is good, great for soccer but then recently i got setanta in as well and now the two combined are brilliant, you get loads of rugby on setanta including league and oz rugby plus oz rules and setanta has loads of extra premiership matches, obviously the two of you like sports so go for both:)

    Just watch both!

I normally switch one to the other when one goes to a break.

Sky Sports have hotties as presenters compared to Setanta which helps them be the better station to watch.

The main reason I have Sky Sports now is for the champions league. Setanta shows much more of the stuff I'm interested in. In fact, there's always something on Setanta that I'd watch. Can't say the same about Sky.

I actually like the fact that you're billed seperately for Setanta. It doesn't feel so bad. :)

Sky Sports - i think the pundits and commentators are better the graphics are classy as well

    Yes Mossy.
Setanta has Premiership football (including 3pm sat soccer), Racing, Golf, Rugby, American Sports etc for €18 a month. I call that excellent value for money.
The cheapest I can get Sky Sports for is €50 a month. Is that value for money??? I'm not so sure.
    regards
    D.

Speaking of broadcast quality alone, Sky wins hands down. If you're watching on a large screen Setanta is very poor. A very low bit rate. I have both, mainly for the football so I have the best of both worlds.

I agree completely. When Arsenal TV launches it will be even better.

I have both - and I'm afraid thats what I'd recommend

i have both also. i suppose it really depends what you are into but i watch soccer most, which is why i got setanta, for the extra liverpool games (and the one UFC pay per view event back in oct i think). the scottish league is just too boring to watch.
i dont watch anything else on setanta so the 18euro is fairly expensive for the odd game compared to 61 or whatever it is for my entire sky package. there will be the odd thing i will watch on sky sports also like nfl, boxing or spanish football and their sky sports news is great. ive barely watched LFC TV. usually its just repeats of games and interviews etc and the recent games are not shown live
by the way i found it fairly sneaky how they say its one month payment of €18 but basically its a subscription u sign up for (dont want to hear anything bout read the small print, their advertising is very misleading)

so bit rate is the technical term for that? RTE seems to have the best quality of every channel on Sky. BBC is poor for me. Setanta have improved. It used to be a lot worse.
