this problem has been pissing me off for a while now.

basically ive got an Ibanez S-520 EX and a Fender '72 Telecaster Custom.have had the Ibanez about 2 years and the Fender about one.but lately things have started to go wrong.

whenever i play on the B and high E strings on the first fret on both guitars theres an awful buzz.its not too much hassle to me cause i very rarely play on the first fret.but id still like to get it sorted.im not the most technical when it comes to guitar fixing so it could be something simple

any ideas would be much appreciated as its driving me mad when it does happen.

    thanks in advance

Has this aways happened, or just started recently? Have you started using a different string gauge? Have you changed the nut? Or adjusted the truss rod?

The usual fix is to raise the action slightly at the bridge, but it seems a bit strange that you are having exactly the same problem on both guitars, so maybe you should try to find the cause first.

eh no it hasnt always happened. and no i havnt done any of your above suggestions.ive always used Super Slinkys.

the only change ive made in the last few months is moving them from my bedroom to my converted garage where all my sh1t is now stored.

i tried raising the action on my ibanez but it didnt do much.only small change. and i was too afraid to do anything to my fender.
