To break or not to break?

One of my p6's is dead or as good as. The front drivers side suspension mounting has broken. I'm not sure what to do? The garage that I use said that it can be fixed but may not be economically viable. I have to admit that as I'm married and have just bought another P6 that my classic car funds are probably too tight for the forseeable future. Heres my question, my other P6 hasn't got the leather interior and the black door cards and my broken p6 has new perilli (can't spell) tyres on it with a new battery etc. Am I better off swapping the tyres, interior etc or am I better off selling the car as a breaker? The guy who brought the car back on the truck said he knew a guy that was interested in buying the car as he knows it. I'm not sure how much he willing to pay. I assume that he will want all the good bits on it and will weld the mounting. I would nearly prefer to sell it as is. I believe the car is too good to break. Attached are a couple of pictures of the car before I put on the new SD1 vitesse alloy wheels and put in custom fitting carpets etc. Any opinons / comments are more than welcome.

Certainly from thos pioctures it looks too good to break !!

How much will the suspesnion job cost ?

Could youi not sell it as is, or eBay it ?

In fact Irish Vintage Scene has a good "for sale" section and this car would be perfect for someone as a small project !

For Gods' sake dont break it !

I echo the above, looks way too good to break.

If you want me to list it for sale on my site send me recent pictures, description and contact details to

    info@ClassicCar.ie

Someone somewhere will want a project.

    Regards
    Jon

Thanks for the advice. I think I will take Dusty up on his offer. I wouldn't want the car broken up, it just that I don't have this car garaged anymore as the other car is in its place. I have found that with these cars that the more you run them the better they stay. If I left this car until I had the time/money to do the work...sometime in the new year the car might further deteriorate.

Thank you for your advice. I'm not sure what price I can ask for. I'm not trying to be greedy but is 1K+ too much. I have new pirelli P6000's on the car, good SD1 Vitesse alloy wheels, the interior is excellent for its age. The engine dosent run as I need to replace starter, which I have one of. I have a replacement alternator also, plus beautiful chrome mirrors to replace the old ones on the car. The car has been on a four point jack as can be verfied by the local garage. Not a squeak, not bad at 35 years It also has a new battery and a new car cover. Finally I have many spares etc. The car has some surface rust, but as you may or may not know it is built like a Citroen ds the bodywork is merely hanging from the central core of the car. Before anyone asks that is a large bore exhaust on the back it may not be pretty but the sound is "awesome" (stupid phrase I know) but appropriate.

I have attached pictures of the car from earlier in the week.

PM me if anyone knows anyone who may be interested.......have to admit that I want to put the tyres and interior in my new P6 in the new year....Mercmad WILL HUNT ME DOWN!!!
