    Hi guys,
Do any of you have any cost effective methods of recording guitar to my laptop? I have a straight acoustic (no pickup) and an electric with small practice amp. Any free software out there that's better than Windows Sound Recorder? And cheap USB interfaces to plug the electric directly into?

    Ta v'ry much! :)

Cheapest way to connect your electric guitar to your laptop is to use one of these
couple of euros tops in a music or electronics shop. It would be better to use a pre-amp, a POD or something like that, or a line-out from your amp, or even a mic in front of the amp, but the adapter on its own will work. You'll need some kind of microphone for the acoustic.

Thanks guys. Just installed audacity there now to get me one of them there adapters. Could I use the headphones out on the amp as the input to the PC? Better than directly connecting the guitar?
