    All,

    Long time lurker etc, after a guitar playing hiatus, have started to play again with a vengence. I'm in the market for a new guitar and having read the recommendations here of Bacchus, I've been looking around e-bay where I spotted a gorgeous blond tele.

    I've noticed that the headstock is unbranded and when I enquired of the vendor the response I got was;

    "Hi They are not allowed now to put a brand name on a Fender style guitar ( like Edwards ). The old ones have a brand name"

    Can any of you guys shed some light on whether this is the case ?

    Thanks

    Sounds like bull**** to me. The T-series in the '08 Bacchus catalog all have branded headstocks (kindly posted in this forum recently).

    Scambo rambo-jambo up the mambo. You'd expect to hear "...but the name and serial number are punched on the back of the headstock" if it were real.

    Sounds like a fake or a Bacchus with a replacement neck to me. In any case, I wouldn't buy it simply because the neck isn't provable as a Bacchus!

    They are real. There are plenty of strats like that too.

    The branded ones on the Bacchus site, the T-Master etc, are Bacchus interpretations of the Telecaster design and feature the Bacchus headstock designs. The ones without the headstock decal are pretty much Fender replicas to a tee and, you will notice, also have the Fender headstock design and that is where the legal issue is.
