I have an LG 42PX5D Plasma for a few years now, and have noticed on and off lately a kind of haze of red dots on various parts of the screen. However it does seem intermittent I would expect probably depends on the colours/picture being displayed on the screen, definitly more noticeable when dark screens are being used.

I've tried to browse around a bit on the issue, and have adjusted the power settings to low which seems to have helped somewhat but not 100%.

From further reading it seems this could be voltage related, and worst case require some boards to be replaced.

Anyone any other insights or advice ?

Well lowering the power settings did seem to help, and I have since run a HDMI splitter distribution amp between my amp and plasma & projector and that also seems to have further improved the picture quality or it definitely seems like it?

hi sorry to reopen a old tread but i am having the same issue with my Samsung ps-42q92h plasma, i get red flickering pixels / spots in arias were the screen should be black. this does not always occur but it is annoying. I've look around and there are mentions of changing the voltage, how did you do this? did you have to remove the back plate of the tv? anyone else having/had the same issue?

I didn't lower the voltage just the power settings via the on screen TV menu from High to Low. Lowering the voltage probably would have required a technican callout, in my case anyway.

The power change improved things slightly, and while the issue is still noticeable on occassion, I am putting up with it.

thanks for the reply. when you say powersettings i take it you mean the power save feature, i've turned that off now and also bought a better HDMI cable and it seems to have helped a goo bit. thanks for the help
