    Kenny,
    ..
for THAT price deffinately the 12/7 is the better buy....its a mix of 4 pliys of Maple and 2 of cherrywood...fabulous drum just a shame they spoiled it by doing it in black!!..coz the original finish in cherrywood is outstanding. Anyway the sound will be great,...Mapex make outstanding snares and their "Black Panther" range is a match for and indeed better than many other top liner's......so for E99 yur getting a bargain!

    goood luck with it amigo....Baggio..............

Thanks Baggio, you've probably made up my mind! Would it be ok do use it as a primary snare? I also seen that you use wuhan cymbals, i'm thinking of gettin a 8" splash and 14" china are they good and reliable? Thanks man, Kenny

    Kenny, good man,

...yeahh the 12/7 can be used as a main snare if yu wish, i bought a 12/7 mapex pro.m. (actually thought it was the cherry/maple snare yu have but in natural finish...so got kinda swindled as the pro.m. while good wouldnt be as good as the one your getting) yea at first i knew id been had on ebay,.,but took it to studio with band and tried it out as main snare for the whole night.....was pleasently surprised how goood it was/is.....veryy good tone and response and crack,,,so there ya go,...i'd say youll have nooo worries using yours as main snare....just watch for the extra depth..youll have to let the snare height down a bit to make it match the height yu may have had before if yu get me!?

Wuhan cymbals??.......well..I havent used their crash/rides,splashes but have heard their pretty good...but their China's?!,,their the best in the business for many pro's and for me too...if you want a sharp crashing explosive but quick decaying china sound..Wuhan are the way to go, and their stilll soo damm cheap but dont let that put you off...their quality for chinas all the way.

    good luck with it amigo...Baggio....
